I am so pleased to announce a new service for you…Shopping for cloth napkins! I’ve completed a new page on olgasfabulousfolds.com – “SHOP !!” Instead of going to a retail store where the selection is unpredictably “sketchy” at best. Here, you can quickly select cloth napkins that meet my standards – cotton, large mainly 20″ x 20″ […]
This past weekend I was invited to demonstrate napkin folding at our local art gallery, BAC. It’s been a period of time since I’ve done that AND not much has changed. It attracted a grandmother and her granddaughter, there was one gentleman, women of all ages including a young mother with her two children (infant […]
This fold Peacock Fan – is found the app, Fabulous Folds – inside the Glass Stuffer Index. It is simple to execute and looks so beautiful on your table. Whether you are setting a table that is inside or outside, take 5 minutes to fold them and it will set the tone for your meal…the […]
I saw this video on how to build a 3D paper house. It’s all about cutting and folding paper – a fun addition to Olga’s Fabulous Folds don’t you think? I also think it’s worthy of adding to the website so you will find this fold under “Folding Other Stuff”. In my opinion…it looks like […]
First a quick story. Several years ago I was invited to a picnic. When we arrived I quickly found out that I had not dressed properly. I had sandals on meant for sidewalks not for walking down a steep slope to a beach. So I had to remove them and walk barefoot. When I arrived […]
The 4th of July is just around the corner! This is such a fun holiday to set a table for. I like to bring out my flag and use it as a tablecloth (definitely no disrespect intended). I bring out the star bowls & plates and anything else I have that is “Stars-n-Stripes”…it all works together […]
Oh the joys of Easter! Fun, Silly and Tasty. A fabulous time of the year when everything is young, tender and ‘Oh So’ cute! I thought I’d share this Easter dinner table setting napkin fold so that you can begin thinking how you will decorate that Easter table. This fold, Mazatlan is found in […]
I think it’s an important question to contemplate. What inspires you – that you share – may have a profound affect on someone else, all because you were inspired. When I think of moments: when I felt “goosebumps” as I watched a video – I was inspired. that what I was reading was really resonating […]
Shibori is a Japanese technique of resist dyeing fabric resulting in unique shapes and patterns on the material. A wonderful solution that will allow you to get more use out of your tired or stained cloth napkins. There are many patterns you can choose from & you must start with a cotton napkin. (photo by […]
Alternatives to a star-topped tree – cut pieces of garland to top the tree or gather curly ribbon ends and let them cascade down the tree. If your preference is the plated version, I found that a napkin with curly edges, looked like “trimmings” on the tree. Oh what a fun table this will be!
